Rivers in Himachal Pradesh | Nadiyan In Himachal Pradesh

हिमाचल प्रदेश मे मुखयता  पाँच नदियां बहती हैं।  यह नदियाँ कुछ इस प्रकार हैं।  ब्यास नदी  , चिनाब नदी, रावी नदी,  सतलुज नदी, यमुना नदी। 
ब्यास नदी / Beas River

संस्कृत नाम / Sanskrit Name: विपासा 
उद्गम स्थान / Origin From: The world famous Rohtang Pass(3978 M altitude) is the birth place of the Beas River. It is originated from Beas Kund in the Pir Panjal Range.
सहायक नदियां / Tributaries Rivers: 
In the East: the Parbati, The Spin, The Malana Nala, 
In the West: The Solang, the Manalsu, the Sujoin, the  Phojal  and the Sarvari streams.
In the North: the Binwa, the Neugal, the Gaj, the Chakki, the Dehar, the Banganga.
In the South: The Kunah, the Maseh, the Khairan  and the Man
Brief Introduction
The Beas River enters Mandi  district at Bajaura and leaves Sandhol to enter Kangra district leaves it near Moorthal. The Mandi  town is situated on left bank of the Beas River. At Pandoh, in Mandi district, the waters of the Beas river have been diverted through a big tunnel to join the Satluj. It  flows 256 KM in Himachal. Its catchment area in Himachal Pradesh is 1200 Sq.Km. It merge into river Sutlej at Hari Ka Patan in Ferozpur distt. of Punjab.

चिनाब नदी / Chenab River

वैदिक नाम / Vedic Name: अस्कनी 
संस्कृत नाम / Sanskrit Name: चन्द्रभागा 
उद्गम स्थान / Origin From: Two streams namely Chandra  and Bhaga rise on the opposite sides of Baralacha pass at an elevation of 4891 M, and meet at Tandi (in Lahaul ) to form Chenab river.
सहायक नदिया / Tributaries Rivers: Miyar Nullah and Saicher Nullah
Brief Introduction
The Chenab river flows 122 km in Himachal Pradesh. Its catchment area in H.P. is 7500 Sq. Km. It is the logest river of the  Himachal Pradesh  in  terms of volume of  waters. The Chenab river enters Pangi valley  of Chamba district near Bhujind and leaves the  district at Sansari Nala  to enter  Podar valley  of  Kashmir.

उद्गम स्थान / Origin From: the Ravi river rises from Bara Banghal - a branch of Dhauladhar range as a joint stream formed  by the glacier fed Badal and Tant Giri. 
सहायक नदियां / Tributaries Rivers: The right bank tributaries of the Ravi are the Budhil, Tundahan, Beljedi, Sacho and  Siul. The left bank tributarty worth mentioning is Chirchind nala.
Brief Introduction
The Ravi river flows  158 Km in Himachal Pradesh. Its catchment area in Himachal Pradesh is 5451 Sq. Km. Alexander called it Hydraster or Rhouadis. Chamba town lies on its right bank. It leaves Chamba district at Kheri and enter into Jammu and Kashmir. It merges with Chenab river in Pakistan.It separates Pir Panjal range from Dhauladhar.

उद्गम स्थान / Origin From: Rises from beyond Indian borders in  the  southern  slopes of the Kailash mountain  from Mansarover lake (In Tibet).
सहायक नदियां / Tributaries Rivers: The right bank tributaries are the Spiti, the Ropa, the Taiti, the  Kashang, the Mulgaon, the Wanger, the Throng, the Rupi. The left bank  tributaries are the Tirung, the Gayanthing, the Baspa, the Duling and the Soldang. 
Brief Introduction
The Satluj  river is the largest among five rivers of Himachal Pradesh. It enters Himachal at Shipki. It flows 320 Kms in Himachal Pradesh. Its catchment area in Himachal Pradesh 20,000 Sq. Km. Enters into Bilaspur district at Kasol and leaves near Neila. It enters  District Shimla at Chaura. It Leaves Himachal at Bhakhra to enter Punjab. Asia's highest gravity dam Bhakra was constructed on this river in 1963. The largest artificial lake Gobind Sagar (168 Sq. Km) is also on this river. It finally merges with the  Indus river.

उद्गम स्थान/Origin From: The Yamuna river rises from Yamunotri in Garhwal hills of Uttrakhand.
सहायक नदियां / Tributaries Rivers: Its famous tributaries are Tons, Pabar, Giri or Giri Ganga, Andhara Bata, Jalal.
Brief Introduction
The Yamuna has mythical relation to the sun. The Yamuna is the eastern-most river of Himachal Pradesh. It is the shortest river in  Himachal Pradesh. Its catchment area is 2320  Sq.Km. It enters Himachal at Khadar Majri in District Sirmour. It is the largest tributaries of Ganga River. It leaves Himachal Pradesh near Tajewala to enter Haryana. Tons River forms a natural boundary between  Himachal and Uttrakhand.
